Kindorf Loc-King Cobra clamp
The Kindorf LOC-KING Cobra One-Piece Cable and Pipe Clamp from Thomas & Betts features two design innovations: a pre-set torque mechanism and an anti-vibration locknut, both designed to ensure efficient and secure installation.
The pre-set torque mechanism ensures optimum torque without the risk of over-tightening or excess pressure on cables, enabling quicker and more efficient installation with power tools. The anti-vibration locknut ensures a permanent installation, even in high-vibration environments such as installations on or adjacent to motors or compressors.
"The pre-set torque mechanism takes the guesswork out of installing the Kindorf LOC-KING Cobra One-Piece Cable and Pipe Clamp," said Tim Pierce, product manager for Thomas & Betts. "Removing the worry of over-tightening allows the installer to use power tools and shortens the time need for installation. This can mean significant labor-related cost savings."
Installation is a two-step process of positioning the clamp and then tightening the locknut with a 5/8-inch socket until it no longer turns. When the pre-set torque engages, the locknut separates from the bolt head and stops firmly against the clamp body. Once the installation is complete, the locknut's anti-vibration capability ensures that the clamp is secured indefinitely.
In addition to the pre-set torque mechanism and anti-vibration nut, the Kindorf LOC-KING Cobra One-Piece Cable and Pipe Clamp features a GoldGalv finish that provides increased protection from corrosion. Other features include a wide saddle with anti-rotation tabs for even load distribution, an embossed shoulder and hook that provide increased loading capability and prevent clamp deformation, and parallel hook design that keeps the conduit and cable square to the strut.
The Kindorf LOC-KING Cobra One-Piece Cable and Pipe Clamp is designed for use on tray cable, Teck cable, metal clad cable and armored cable for heavy-duty applications that include a load rating of 350 pounds for one-half-inch to 2½-inch trade sizes and 450 pounds for three-inch to four-inch trade sizes.
