RIDGID powered plastic pipe and tube cutter

RIDGID introduces the powered plastic pipe and tube cutter (Model TC-40) for fast, easy cuts without the need for ratcheting.

Ridgid Model TC-40The RIDGID cutter is intended for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PEX, rubber hose, PVC and CPVC with a capacity up to 1-5/8 inches (42 millimeters) outer diameter. A 75-Watt motor drives the ultra-sharp, pointed X-CEL blade to provide a square, precise cut in four seconds. Repeat cuts can quickly follow with the use of the push-button blade release. Forward and reverse blade operation is made simple with the use of a single trigger on the front of the tool. The RIDGID plastic pipe and tubing cutter is powered with a long-lasting, detachable 12-volt lithium-ion battery, enabling it to make up to 250 cuts per charge.

"We've given our users speed and repeatability with the RIDGID powered plastic pipe and tubing cutter," said Kennia Papadakis, director of marketing, hand tools at RIDGID. "This is an ideal tool for anyone making multiple cuts per day."

The well-balanced, 2.5-pound powered cutter is designed with a pistol grip for an ergonomic feel and firm hold. The X-CEL blade can be replaced, without using any tools, simply by removing the quick-change pin. An LED at the front of the tool provides additional lighting for accurate cutting in low light environments and a battery level indicator on the back of the tool lets the user know when to recharge the battery. The cutter and charger come packaged in a rugged plastic carrying case that makes the tool easy to carry onto the jobsite.
