Weldcote introduces True-Color Digital Variable Auto-Darkening Filter Lens
Weldcote, a division of Zika Group, is now offering a true-color digital variable auto-darkening filter lens replacement for Weldcote’s auto-darkening helmets.
The digital control allows users to have a light shade of 3 to a dark shade of 5-9/9-13, providing the opportunity for use in a variety of different applications, including grinding, cutting and TIG, MIG and stick welding.
The thin design fits all 2 inch by 4.25 inch welding helmets and has a stainless-steel frame to reflect infrared heat and light. With a viewing area of 1.42 inch by 3.74 inch (5.3 square inches), the auto-darkening filter lens features a true-color blue HD technology that alleviates eye and neck fatigue while providing enhanced visible spectrum and optimal clarity. The filter has a CE classification of 1/1/1/2 for accuracy of vision, diffusion of light, consistent shade and angular dependence.
Weldcote’s new digital filters are powered by solar and a rechargeable battery with a magnetic USB charging cable. Carrying a two-year warranty, the filter lens comes with two cover lenses.
“Weldcote’s filter lens allows users to transition from light to dark in milliseconds, providing welders with the clarity and protection they need,” said Joe O’Mera, CEO. “The filter lens can be used for a variety of applications to give users flexibility.”
Auto-darkening helmets significantly enhance safety by adjusting shades in milliseconds, reducing the risk of flashbacks from external sources that can occur with traditional helmets. This advanced technology allows welders to maintain clear visibility of the weld plate without the need to adjust their helmet when striking an arc.
