Templin named AD ISD president
Affiliated Distributors announced the promotion of Jack Templin to president of the Industrial Supply Division (ISD).
"Templin's promotion to president is part of AD's establishment of fully empowered, fully resourced strategic business units for each AD division, Electrical, PHCP, Drywall and Industrial," according to a press release issued by AD.
"The strategic business unit structure provides for increased divisional autonomy, which accelerates growth, while keeping our costs to serve low by sharing our best-in-class back office," said Bill Weisberg, AD CEO. "Each strategic business unit now has a divisional president and a dedicated team of executives and staff members that serve and take direction from our distributor members and our suppliers through representative boards and councils."
Affiliated Distributors' Industrial Supply Division grew by over 20% in 2010 and again in 2011. Most of that growth was organic, as AD members grew, increasing their purchases and conversions to AD suppliers.
AD also established a new position, director affiliate relations, ISD, that is yet to be filled. "This new position is primarily responsible for driving affiliate and supplier growth as well as the recruitment of new affiliates and will complement the outstanding job that Mark R. Higgins is doing as VP and managing director, ISD," Templin said.
In addition to Templin's promotion, Stephanie Leister was promoted to senior executive assistant and marketing coordinator. In her new role, she will be the direct coordinator for all divisional marketing programs as well as the divisions' administrative activities.
Templin joined AD in September as senior vice president of AD's Industrial Supply Division, replacing Stu Mechlin.
