New York, Philly manufacturing stay strong
The Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Philadelphia both released positive reports about the state of manufacturing in their respective regions.
Results from the Philadelphia Business Outlook Survey suggest that regional manufacturing activity continues to expand in January. All of the broad indicators remained positive this month and there was an apparent pickup in new orders and employment. Click for more.
In New York, the Empire State Manufacturing Survey indicates that conditions for New York manufacturers improved in January. The general business conditions index rose 2 points to 11.9. The new orders index moved up 10 points to 12.4, and the shipments index surged 18 points to 25.4. Click for more.
