Sandvik Coromant opens Calif. training center

Sandvik Coromant announced the opening of a new productivity center in Cypress, Calif.

The 17,051 square-foot facility will serve metalworking customers. Sandvik Coromant says the facility is designed to help manufacturers maximize their metal cutting operations by offering a balance of theory-based training courses, technical seminars and hands-on machining demonstrations. In addition, the productivity center will be staffed with training specialists and machining experts that will educate customers in methods for improving efficiency and productivity in metal cutting.

The new Sandvik Coromant Productivity Center will be the fifth of its kind in North America, joining facilities in Fair Lawn, N.J.; Schaumburg, Ill.; Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; and Monterey, Mexico.

An open house has been scheduled for April 3, featuring facility tours, technical presentations and live machine demonstrations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with technical experts from Sandvik Coromant.

"Our productivity centers around the world combine theory with a great deal of hands-on practice and training for our customers," said Robert Page, Productivity Center and training manager. "There is a huge customer base in the southwest region that we will now be able to provide support and training to better meet the challenges and opportunities in their business."
