BlackHawk Industrial acquires J&S Tool

BlackHawk Industrial announced the acquisition of J&S Tool, a distributor, manufacturer and reconditioner of cutting tools based in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1986 by James Hammond Sr. and purchased in 2000 by his son, Shane, J&S Tool serves customers in the St. Louis and southern Illinois markets.

“We continue to invest in growing our distribution and value-added services in strategic locations, allowing us to increase our capabilities and reduce lead times on our customers’ mission critical tools. The addition of J&S is a significant multiplier of those capabilities,” said John Mark, CEO of BlackHawk Industrial.

Shane Hammond added, “This is a big day for all J&S associates. We have experienced significant growth as a smaller company, but now have unlimited potential with access to the broader customer base and sales team of BlackHawk.”
