Ingersoll-Rand sales down 5%
Ingersoll-Rand reported that total revenues, excluding the divested Hussmann refrigeration business, increased 1 percent for the fourth quarter of 2011 compared with the 2010 fourth quarter.
The company's revenues declined by 5 percent to $3.5 billion, compared with $3.6 billion for the 2010 fourth quarter.
Net earnings for the quarter were $242.2 million, or 76 cents per share, compared to $212 million, or 62 cents per share, for the same period in 2010.
Full-year 2011 net revenues were $14.7 billion, an increase of 6 percent compared with $14.0 billion in 2010. Excluding the results of the divested Hussmann refrigeration business, 2011 revenues increased by 8 percent.
Revenues in the Industrial Technologies segment, which makes compressed air systems, tools and fluid power products, increased 8 percent to $744 million. Air and Productivity revenues increased 7 percent, with volume increases in all major geographic regions except Asia. Revenues in the Americas increased mid-teens percent compared with 2010. Air and Productivity Solutions revenues outside the Americas increased slightly.
