Grainger January sales up 10 percent
Grainger reported January sales increased 10 percent compared to January 2010.
Results for the month included a 1 percentage point positive contribution from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point contribution from foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, daily sales for the company increased 8 percent.
Sales in the United States were up by 6 percent, while sales in Canada increased 24 percent (18 percent in local currency). Other businesses, which includes sales from the acquired business in Colombia, grew by 39 percent.
