Manufactured goods orders fall
New orders for manufactured goods decreased 1 percent in January to $462.6 billion according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The decrease followed two consecutive monthly increases.
A 10.5 percent decline in machinery orders, to $30.5 billion, was behind a 3.7 percent drop for manufactured durable goods orders for the month.
Inventories increased $3.9 billion or 0.6 percent during January to $614.7 billion.
