NAHAD update: no convention will be held in 2020

In an update sent to members today, NAHAD, The Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution, said that there will be no annual convention held in 2020.

Last week, after announcing the cancellation of the planned Meeting & Convention scheduled for late April, the association surveyed members to determine their input on postponing the event until late August. Only about one-third of the nearly 300 members who responded to the survey were in favor of the idea, and about 25 percent said attending an event that late in the year would impact their attendance in 2021.

"This was an incredibly difficult decision, but ultimately the right one for the health of our members and long-term success of the association," said Molly Alton Mullins, NAHAD executive vice president.

The association will refund registrations in full.

The association plans to hold a virtual annual meeting in April for members to vote on officers and to share news about NAHAD initiatives.

The 2020 Meeting & Convention originally had been scheduled to be held in the Bahamas from April 24-29.
