February durable goods orders inch up 0.9%
New orders for manufactured durable goods in February increased $2.7 billion or 0.9% to $289.3 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau announced today.
Order have been up for the last two consecutive months – February's orders followed a 3.3% January increase.
Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.7%. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.8%.
Transportation equipment, also up two consecutive months, led the increase of $1.4 billion or 1.5% to $98.3 billion.
