WESCO International Q1 sales flat

WESCO International said its net sales of $2.0 billion for the first quarter of 2019 were equal to 2018.

Organic sales for the quarter grew by 1.0 percent.

Net income for the 2019 first quarter was $42.4 million, or 93 cents per diluted share, compared to $44.4 million, or 93 cents, for the first quarter of 2018.

"Our sales growth rebounded nicely in March and has continued into April after a slow start in January and February. Backlog grew sequentially in the quarter, consistent with normal seasonality, and provides a positive set-up for the balance of the year," said John J. Engel, chairman, president and CEO.
