New orders for manufactured durable goods rise 0.3%
June new orders for manufactured durable goods increased $1.1 billion or 0.3% to $334.8 billion, according to the latest Monthly Advance Report on Durable Goods, Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories, and Orders released Monday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
New orders had been up three of the last four months. June's totals followed a 4% May decrease.
Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.6%. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.3%t. Computers and electronic products, up nine of the last 10 months, led the increase, $0.9 billion or 3.1% to $31.1 billion.
