Two ContiTech leaders honored at PTDA convention
Two leaders at Continental were honored at the annual Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Convention in Colorado Springs last week.
Cindy Russell, head of Canada distribution for Continental’s Group Sector ContiTech, has been awarded the 2024 Woman of the Year Award. Over her 28-year tenure at ContiTech, Russell has held numerous positions, starting as a customer service representative and advancing through various marketing roles, including national sales manager, before assuming her current role.
Early in her career, Russell attended her first trade show and was the only woman present. This experience was a pivotal moment for her, and she embraced the challenge, learning to stay true to herself and not take things personally. Cindy now mentors other women in the PT/MC industry, encouraging them to develop their passion and excel.
In 2023, ContiTech underwent its largest realignment in history, shifting from a traditional global product structure to one focused on customers and industries. Russell leads the new team, driving the creation of mutual value and success for both customers and the team. During this period, she promoted two team members she mentored, led Canada to achieve the highest sales in North America for industrial distribution and power transmission, and remained active with PTDA, NAHAD, and NIBA.
Russell emphasizes the importance of communication, stating that straightforward communication and brand confidence build trust with customers. She believes that exuding trust and integrity, and believing in what you sell, strengthens customer relationships. Russell is no longer the only woman at trade shows, but she advises others to remain authentic. Receiving the 2024 Woman of the Year award affirms her ability to make a difference for other women.
Joe Glandorf, head of power transmission solutions for ContiTech has been honored with the Robert K. Callahan Advancing Leaders Award. This prestigious award recognizes Joe’s exceptional contributions to the power transmission industry and his leadership within Continental.
Since joining Continental in 2014, Glandorf has significantly reshaped the Power Transmission Solutions segment. He formed a new cross-functional team, integrating talent from various departments to drive innovation and position ContiTech as a market leader in power transmission products. His strategic vision and market insight have enhanced the company’s competitive edge and delivered substantial value to customers. Glandorf’s innovative approach and deep understanding of customer needs have increased product visibility and market share, contributing greatly to ContiTech’s success.
Glandorf’s leadership extends beyond Continental. As a member of the Standards Settings Committee for the Mechanical Power Transmission Association, he ensures industry safety and excellence. He also actively participates in the Distributor Advisory Council, fostering stronger relationships with key distribution partners.
Continental congratulates Russell and Glandorf on their well-deserved awards and their continued dedication to excellence and leadership in the industry.
