Hapman celebrates 80th anniversary

Hapman, a provider of custom bulk material handling equipment, is celebrating its 80th year in business.

Founded in 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, Hapman began its journey with the launch of the Tubular Drag Conveyor for the automotive industry. Over the years, Hapman says it has consistently expanded its capabilities and product offerings, gradually shifting its primary focus from automotive applications to the powder and bulk solids sector. With expertise in industries ranging from food production, chemical manufacturing, and wastewater treatment, Hapman has earned its reputation as a trusted name in material handling.

Recent product introductions, including the CablePro and PosiPro, have reinforced Hapman’s role as a trusted partner in bulk material handling. Looking ahead, Hapman says it is preparing to launch an additional conveyor, further broadening its lineup of solutions to address evolving customer needs.

Alongside new product development, Hapman is expanding its manufacturing footprint. The facility expansion will add 18,500 square feet, an increase of 35%, to support rising demand and boost operational efficiency. Hapman will also be opening a new test lab, giving customers the opportunity to validate material handling solutions under real-world conditions and ensure optimal performance for their specific applications.

“As we celebrate 80 years of excellence, we reflect on the generations of employees, customers, and partners who have contributed to Hapman’s success,” said Vice President of Sales and Engineering Matt Richardson. “Our legacy is built on reliability, consistent performance, and a commitment to helping our customers solve their material handling challenges. We are proud of our history and look forward to continuing to serve our customers for many years to come.”

Hapman’s equipment is installed in all 50 states and 56 countries, with more than 14,000 completed projects and over 2,700 materials tested.
