Kimball Midwest receives e-commerce honor
Kimball Midwest, a family-owned national distributor of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products, finished among the top three finalists in the prestigious 2025 Americas B2B eCommerce Awards, honoring excellence in digital transformation by manufacturers and distributors.
“We appreciate being recognized in the top three of the B2B eCommerce Association’s awards,” said Jeff Reichert, the company’s director of e-commerce and integrated marketing. “I’m proud of the collective efforts from our marketing and IT teams along with the support and investment from our senior leadership, sales team and the rest of the Kimball Midwest team. We’ve made significant progress in our transformation journey, and I look forward to additional features being added over the next five to 10 years.”
Kimball Midwest’s e-commerce journey began in earnest in 2017, when its website served primarily as a supplemental ordering tool for customers between sales rep visits. Recognizing the need for a more ro-bust digital presence, the company embarked on a strategic transformation.
Between 2020 and 2022, Kimball Midwest replaced its site search platform and implemented other technical improvements. The company partnered with a web design agency to overhaul its site, prioritized improvements based on feedback and expanded its digital marketing and online merchandising teams.
The transformation accelerated from 2023 to 2025 with the launch of innovative features such as table view and product selectors. The company also modernized its shopping cart and checkout process, among other enhancements.
