DuPont Safety & Construction launches Nomex Comfort

DuPont Safety & Construction announced the launch of Nomex Comfort, a lightweight fabric combining the flame resistant (FR) protection of Nomex with enhanced comfort and breathability.

DuPont logo“In talking with safety managers and wearers, we understood that one of their key challenges is finding not only compliant but comfortable PPE,” said John Richard, vice president and general manager for DuPont Kevlar and Nomex. “We are committed to constantly discovering and delivering solutions that matter and help solve our customers’ toughest challenges, and that is what has led us to launch a new fabric in the North American industrial market; Nomex Comfort. We are excited about this proven fabric innovation as it directly answers the wearers’ needs for dependable FR protection in a more comfortable, breathable fabric from a brand they trust – Nomex.”

New Nomex Comfort provides inherent FR protection with an optimized blend that enhances comfort and breathability – delivering comfort without compromise.

Nomex Comfort is the latest innovation in protection for the oil and gas, petrochemical and general manufacturing industries. While this new material is the lightest weight Flame-Resistant Personal Protective Equipment (FR PPE) fabric to meet NFPA 2112 and NFPA 70E standards, Nomex Comfort provides enhanced inherent heat and flame protection. It also absorbs much less moisture than cellulosic fibers such as cotton and viscose, therefore, garments made of Nomex Comfort can dry faster, making the wearer feel more comfortable. It will be available in a variety of colors and weights, providing more options when choosing professional FR personal protection equipment (PPE).
