Chicago Fed National Activity Index rises
Improvements in personal consumption-related indicators led an increase in the Chicago Fed National Activity Index to +0.66 in January from +0.41 in December.
All four broad categories of indicators used to construct the index made positive contributions in January, but three categories decreased from December.
The index’s three-month moving average decreased to +0.47 in January from +0.60 in December.
