Kimball Midwest completes expansion
Kimball Midwest celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded corporate headquarters and distribution center in Columbus, Ohio.
The 168,000 square foot expansion connected the office and distribution center with about 123,000 of additional distribution center space and approximately 45,000 square feet of dedicated office space, roughly doubling the current office space and allowing room for growth.
“Our growth model goes all the way back to before I got started,” said Pat McCurdy, president and CEO. “We are a sales driven company and we know that won’t change. We have a firm faith in our business model and our people. We are confident this additional space will be necessary in the future as we continue to grow and expand.”
Kimball Midwest has made significant investments to upgrade mechanicals and lighting to improve energy efficiencies. The headquarters location continues the use of LED lighting and occupancy sensors in the distribution center and the new portion of the offices.
“We are changing the layout of the facility to give us improved efficiencies day one as well as better position ourselves to handle our dynamic growth,” said Steve Good, Director of Operations.
With the expansion, the company expects to add an additional 50 jobs to the Columbus area.
Kimball Midwest currently operates nationwide out of distribution centers in Columbus, Dallas, Reno and a new distribution center in Savannah, Ga.
