Kennametal issues tornado-damage statement
Kennametal Inc. said its production facility in Rogers, Arkansas, sustained damage early Sunday morning, May 26, from a tornado that also affected the larger Rogers community. At the time of the storm, the facility was shut down for the holiday weekend and no employees were onsite. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

MRC sales up 5%, income down
MRC Global Inc. reported first quarter sales of $806 million are a 5% improvement over the fourth quarter of 2023. Net income declined from $28 million in Q1 2023 to $13 million.

Allient industrial markets sales up 10%

March construction spending up 9.6% vs. 2023
Construction spending during March 2024 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2,083.9 billion, 0.2% (±0.8%)* below the revised February estimate of $2,087.8 billion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Unemployment changes little for wholesale trade
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 175,000 in April, and the unemployment rate changed little at 3.9%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.

Ingersoll Rand Inc. reported record first quarter revenues of $1,670 million, up 3% – on a two-year stack, up 24%. First quarter orders were down 4%.

DSG revenue climbs 19.5% in first quarter
