Sphere 1 raises over $154,000 for Building Homes for Heroes

Sphere 1 members-distributors and preferred suppliers raised more than $154,000 to benefit a charity that builds homes and completes home modifications for veterans and their families.

Kirstie EnnisThe donations followed an inspirational speech by Kirstie Ennis, a former U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant, and Building Homes for Heroes beneficiary, who spoke at Sphere 1's Annual Awards Dinner in Aurora, Colorado, in May.

Ennis told about her near-death experience during a June 2012 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in multiple injuries. After more than 40 surgeries and the amputation of her leg, Building Homes for Heroes, was the bright light she needed to help re-build her future.

Sphere 1 donated $25,000 on behalf of all Sphere 1 members and suppliers to Building Homes for Heroes, while hundreds of attendees made personal donations. Hahn Systems, Makita USA, and Metabo HPT each matched Sphere 1’s donation of $25,000. Dayton Superior also donated $5,000. Together, Sphere 1 and their attendees raised over $154,000 that night to bring renewed hope to our nation’s injured veterans that have fought for our freedom.

“Building Homes for Heroes has been an organization Sphere 1 has supported for over eight years,” said Ron Foltz, board chairman for Sphere 1. “The board of directors felt 2022 was the year to bring this fight to our annual conference, and our Sphere 1 family absolutely blew us away by their generosity. This shows that Sphere 1 is much bigger than buying and selling products. We are truly a family that makes a difference.”

“We are proud to partner with Sphere 1 and their amazing members and vendors to help our injured veterans and their families with the gift of a mortgage-free home,” said Andy Pujol, the founder and CEO of Building Homes for Heroes. “Together, we’re supporting our heroes by helping them reach their dreams in education, financial freedom, athletics and entrepreneurial spirit. Truly, we’re building better and brighter lives and making dreams come true.”
