Spartan Industrial hosts engineering interns
Spartan Industrial, a member of the Singer Industrial family, recently hosted a group of engineering interns from Audubon Companies at its Belle Chasse, Louisiana facility.
The hands-on visit provided the interns with a comprehensive overview of Spartan’s operations and value-added services, helping to bridge academic learning with real-world industrial applications.
The day began with an engaging classroom session led by Spartan account managers Tommy Tillis and Steve Spinella, covering:
- The history and nationwide footprint of Singer Industrial.
- Spartan’s value-added services, including OnGuard Asset Management and HoseSafety.com.
- Total cost of ownership concepts and efficiency strategies.
- A technical overview of hydraulic, industrial, and metal hose manufacturing.
- Real-world insights into applications, market segments, and hose routing and installation best practices.
After the classroom presentation, the interns toured the shop floor where they observed live metal hose welding, watched technicians fabricate tank truck and composite hoses, and even had the opportunity to crimp hydraulic hoses themselves.
“It’s always a privilege to open our doors to the next generation of engineers,” said Brandon Pellegrin, general manager of Spartan Industrial. “Our Belle Chasse team was proud to give these students a behind-the-scenes look at what we do every day—and why it matters.”
