Manufactured goods orders increased in June
New orders for manufactured goods increased 0.6 percent in June to $493.8 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported today.
The increase followed a 1.3 percent May decrease. Shipments increased 0.4 percent to $506.2 billion. This followed a 0.1 percent May increase.
New orders for manufactured durable goods increased 1.9 percent to $245.4 billion. This followed a 2.3 percent May decrease. Transportation equipment led the increase, gaining 3.7 percent to $80.4 billion.
New orders for manufactured nondurable goods decreased 0.5 percent to $248.4 billion.
