Third consecutive increase for Pandemic Revenue Index

The weekly Pandemic Revenue Index from Indian River Consulting Group increased for the third straight week.

Pandemic Revenue Index Aug. 24-28The index for the work week of Aug. 24-28 indicated a 2.6 percent increase compared with the same week a year ago.

IRCG’s distributor Pandemic Revenue Index gives distributors a weekly quantified view into how other distributors in the industry are faring as the global COVID-19 pandemic progresses.

This is the third straight week that the index has posted a gain. Five of the index participants saw a sales gain vs the same week in 2019. The sales gains ranged from 3.2 percent to 38 percent with the decreases ranging from 1 percent to 30 percent. Let this wide variation be a reminder that although the index is trending positive, there is a lot of volatility within it.

“Over the last few months, a pattern has emerged that the week containing the last business day of the month shows an uptick, but the week preceding it is usually pretty weak. Hopefully, with the last day of the month coming next week, the growth trend strengthens,” said Mike Emerson, IRCG partner.
