PT/MC industry donates $212K to PTDA Foundation

Power transmission/motion control companies donated more than $212,000 to the PTDA Foundation in 2020.

The donations will help support the work of the PTDA Foundation’s PT WORK Force initiative, which helps companies find, hire and retain qualified employees.

According to PTDA, almost 40 percent of PT/MC companies have no dedicated human resources staff, so employee recruitment and retention duties fall to someone for whom HR is not their primary skill set.

One resource the PT WORK Force Initiative offers such companies, according to 2020 PTDA Foundation president Keith Nowak of MPT Drives Inc. in Madison Heights, Michigan, is the PT WORK Force blog.

“You need ideas on how to manage your hybrid workforce; how to reward and recognize people who you now may not see in person; and, if you’re filling open positions, you may need to figure out a way to onboard those newbies virtually. Who better to help you with ideas than your peers and colleagues? We launched the PTWORKForceBlog.org so you could hear from others in our industry about how they solved these brand-new issues—and more,” says Nowak.

In addition to the blog, a variety of resources have been developed to help employers in the PT/MC industry hire and retain talent. Learn more about these tools at PTWORKForce.org.
