Advance report: October durable goods inch up
New orders for manufactured durable goods in October, up following two consecutive monthly decreases, increased $0.7 billion or 0.2% to $286.6 billion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
This followed a 0.4% September decrease.
Excluding transportation, new orders increased 0.1%. Excluding defense, new orders increased 0.4%.
Transportation equipment, also up following two consecutive monthly decreases, led the increase, $0.4 billion or 0.5% to $97.1 billion.
