Instant access to critical assets at point of use

Snap-on Industrial’s new ATC Vortex provides real time point-of-use asset management for a wide range of tools, devices and equipment.

Snap-on Industrial ATC Vortex Built for demanding environments, the ATC Vortex is a customizable asset management system that measures about 6 feet, 5 inches tall and requires only 9.8 square feet of floor space. It offers users great flexibility, as it can be customized to hold their exact tooling list. As applications change, the ATC Vortex can easily be reconfigured to hold and track a different inventory list.

Optional casters make the ATC Vortex easy to move from one location to another. In its most dense (smallest) configuration, it can hold up to 987 individual items. If larger items are in the shop, the machine can be arranged to support bulkier tools such a multimeters, torque wrenches, sledgehammers or any other asset that requires tracking. Its patented plastic bin shelf system, combined with the highly flexible tambour-style door, allows the machine to minimize vertical bin height waste and maximize storage efficiency.

After inventory is assigned into the ATC Vortex, users scan a badge for access, select the desired tools or equipment from a large, easy-to-read high-resolution 19” touchscreen monitor, and the machine brings the items forward for dispensing. When the job is finished, users simply select the items from the monitor, and the machine presents its location to the user for return.

This solution is part of Snap-on Industrial’s Level 5 ATC tool control system, which combines real-time asset readiness and compliance, tool access, and custom workflow configurations harnessed with insight-enhancing intelligence that optimizes facility performance. Deploying the Level 5 tool control system allows users to standardize work, improve productivity, control inventory, reduce losses and control foreign object damage (FOD).

Adding the intelligence to the ATC Vortex is Snap-on Industrial’s proprietary L5 Connect™ software, which combines all ATC tool control solutions into a central interface for real-time asset management. The ATC Vortex can also be used as a standalone solution.
