Easy Mount clamping locators
Fixtureworks, a North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components and rollers and bumpers, offers various styles of quick change flex clamping “locators,” including the newest version, labeled the “Easy Mount.”
Designed for quick change applications, the Easy Mount clamping flex locators, CP720-N locate and fasten in a single operation — without the use of tools. They provide fast and accurate fixture changes, mounting the same fixture on different machines, machining from five sides on one fixture, and quick fixture setup.
The system consists of the clamping locator pins and receiving bushings. In combination, these parts are designed to be mounted on fixture bases and plates to allow for highly accurate locating and positioning with repeatability to .01 mm.
In addition to the newest locating device, the Easy Mount, the company’s expanding line of flex locators includes blind style and through style locators, receivers and protective covers.
With a larger flanged shape, the need for precise depth of the mounting holes is eliminated, allowing for easier installation. They are available in overall diameters of 13 to 45 mm.
The blind style, CP720 clamping locator pins and the through style, CP721 are also de-signed to be mounted on fixture bases and plates for accurate locating and positioning with precise 0.01 mm repeatability. Used in both vertical and horizontal applications. They are available in over-all diameters of 16 to 56 mm for the blind style and 15 to 30 mm for the through style.
The receivers, designated CP725, are spring loaded to make removing the fixture plate quick and easy. The body is made from 4140 alloy steel with a black oxide finish. They are available in overall diameters of 32 to 95 mm.
The protective covers, CP725-P, are mounted in clamping flex receivers to keep out dirt and contaminants while the receivers are not in use. They mount flush so there is no interference. The body is made from 5056 aluminum and includes a mounting screw made from 4137 steel with a black oxide finish. They are available in 12 to 44 mm.
