Servo MiniCutter system makes 1,000 cuts per minute
Versa Machinery presents their Servo MiniCutter system, a high torque servo driven tabletop cutter, which is ideal for medical applications such as PVC tubing for IV sets, polyurethane tubing for venous catheters and feeding tubes, silicone for drainage tubes, nylon impregnated silicone tubing, and more.
It can feed, measure, and then cut up to three-quarters of an inch (19mm) O.D. at rates up to 1,000 cuts/minute with the servo-controlled accuracy demanded by medical products manufacturers (material hardness, wall thickness, and construction may limit maximum size).
This compact automated cutter features the power of a large cutting system but fits in a small footprint and is easy to program for automatic operations, making it ideal for test labs, cleanroom environments, and on the production floor. Versa’s accurate and reliable servo technology can hold tight tolerances on cut lengths from 0.01 inch to 9999.99 inch. In addition to medical tubing, it is ideal for silicone tubing, rubber hose, plastic tubing, various small profiles of plastic and rubber, and more.
How It Works
Material is gripped by a pair of rollers and pushed through closely spaced bushings for precision cutting by a high-speed, razor-sharp knife. The servo-controlled feeder provides precise control of the line speed. The feeder servo is electronically linked to the cutter servo to provide accurate control of cut lengths.
Bushings are available in sizes to match the diameter of the material being cut. One set of bored bushings or two sets of blank bushings provided with each machine.
Versa offers additional material handling systems like De-Reeler/Dancer systems which provide torque to prevent unspooling of the feed material, as well as motorized and non-motorized pinch rollers, caterpillar rollers, and more.
