General Pipe Cleaners’ enhanced Flexi-Rooter
General Pipe Cleaners has enhanced its Flexi-Rooter flexible-shaft drain cleaner, now offering a longer 75-foot shaft to give plumbing and drain cleaning professionals greater reach for tackling clogs in residential and commercial drain lines.
Designed for maximum cleaning performance, the Flexi-Rooter has a strong, stiffer flexible shaft with an integral variable-speed motor, allowing operators to clear 2-inch through 4-inch drain lines up to 75 feet long. The upgraded shaft provides the strength to cut through root intrusions in larger lines while remaining flexible enough to navigate bends in smaller pipes.
The integral variable-speed motor delivers speeds from 1,500 to 2,400 rpm and is operated with an air-actuated foot pedal, allowing users to keep their hands free to safely guide the shaft. The system can also be used together with a sewer inspection camera, enabling contractors to locate trouble spots, clear blockages and immediately inspect the results.
“Contractors have embraced flexible-shaft technology as it delivers faster, more thorough cleaning than traditional cable machines,” said Marketing Director Joe Kozlowski. “With the new 75-foot Flexi-Rooter, we’re giving professionals the additional reach they need without sacrificing the power and ease of use they’ve come to expect.”
General incorporates its patented ClogChopper into the Flexi-Rooter with its cutters for aggressive cleaning performance and easier maneuverability. Working together with the carbide chain cutters, the system thoroughly scours pipe walls for a more complete cleaning than conventional cable machines.
Built for everyday use, the Flexi-Rooter features a rugged metal frame with 10-inch wheels and a folding handle for easy transportation. A safety slip clutch helps protect the flexible shaft during operation. Additionally, the rod is field repairable which helps to minimize downtime on the job.
Flexible-shaft technology spins significantly faster than conventional drum machines, providing more effective pipe wall cleaning while keeping the rotating shaft safely enclosed inside a protective sheath for cleaner and less complicated handling.
