Flexicon expands introduces solid-liquid mixing, blending system

Flexicon has launched the FlexEductor liquid mixing eductor system, expanding the company's product line into solid-liquid mixing and blending.

Flexicon Eductor"The addition of the FlexEductor is another important step in our commitment to delivering complete material handling systems," said President Dave Boger. "It expands our portfolio with a highly effective mixing technology that outperforms many alternate methods. More importantly, it gives processors a simpler way to source integrated, high-performance systems from a single, trusted partner."

A centrifugal, twin-screw or rotary lobe pump drives liquid through a patented nozzle positioned upstream of the solid material inlet. This creates a strong Venturi vacuum that draws powder from the induction hopper above the inlet into the mixing zone, producing lump-free blending of solids and liquids while dramatically reducing batch times.

"The FlexEductor has no moving parts, which virtually eliminates mechanical failure and minimizes maintenance," Boger said. "It’s sanitary stainless steel construction and full clean-in-place capability support hygienic operation. The novel design also virtually eliminates clogging during operation, providing fast and effective mixing for new or existing processing lines."

The system accepts solid material from a range of Flexicon equipment, including the company’s bulk bag dischargers, bag dump stations, flexible screw conveyors, pneumatic conveyors and loss-in-weight batching systems.

Optional FlexEductor features include multiple sizes, custom-engineered skid mounting, integrated batch or surge tanks, and a handheld wand inlet for direct pickup from open-top containers.
