New Fixtureworks panel clamps for one-piece fastening
Fixtureworks, a North American manufacturer and supplier of clamps, fixturing accessories, machine tool components and rollers and bumpers, now offers a new line of quarter turn clamps, to complement its expanding One-Touch Fasteners line.
The new Quarter-turn Panel Clamps, identified as the QCTHT and the QCTHTA, are designed for thin-panel applications with no receptacle needed for locking. These clamps provide quick, secure quarter-turn fastening and require only a mounting hole in the base panel for locking, eliminating the need for a separate receptacle. They provide fast, secure locking and unlocking for fixtures, panels, covers, machine components and more.
Quarter-turn panel clamps provide positive locking in applications requiring quick installation and removal of panels or covers without the need for a separate receptacle. These clamps can be mounted on sheet metal as thin as 2 mm. They allow for consistent clamping force, eliminating the chance for under or over tightening by the operator.
Panel clamps are designed to mount directly onto a lower plate, replacing the need for any receptacle. The clamp is mounted to the upper plate as thin as 2 mm, and they lock through the base plate for a two-plate thickness of 4 mm. As the pin contacts the cam surface of the body, the spring compresses to press the plate downward onto the base plate for secure locking.
A simple turn of the knob locks the clamp into place, producing an audible click to confirm engagement. The clamps are also marked with "ON" and "OFF" indicators to clearly show the position of the fastening pins.
There are two versions of panel clamps. The QCTHT panel clamp is the standard version with a diameter of 25 mm. There is also the QTCTHA retractable type featuring a shank that retracts at the unclamping position, which enables operation without interference with the lower plate. The retractable clamp has a diameter of 30 mm. Both the standard and retractable types are made fully from stainless steel and both provide a clamping and holding force of 9 pounds.
