Streamlight's new SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO helmet light
Streamlight Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting tools, has launched the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO, a lightweight, intrinsically safe helmet light designed to provide hands-free illumination for professionals working in hazardous locations and demanding industrial environments.
Designed for versatility, the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO mounts securely to hard hats, safety helmets, and bump caps while allowing use of face shields, visors, hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Its adjustable design enables users to position the beam where needed. For added visibility, the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO incorporates an ultra-bright blue rear LED safety taillight, so users can be seen from behind. A push-button tail switch provides straightforward operation, and the light can be easily removed for handheld use or battery changes.
Powered by three AAA batteries, the new light features dual LEDs with spot, flood and combined spot/flood modes, allowing workers to select focused illumination for seeing farther ahead, broad lighting for close-up tasks, or a combination of both. The spot beam delivers 200 lumens, 2,300 candela and a 96-meter beam distance. Flood mode provides 160 lumens, 170 candela and a 26-meter beam distance. The combined mode offers 250 lumens, 1,100 candela and a 66-meter beam distance. All modes provide 5.25 hours of runtime.

Built for hazardous work environments, the light is Class I, Division 1 rated for Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Division 1 rated for Groups E, F and G; and Class III rated when used with specified batteries. Available in high visibility yellow, the polycarbonate thermoplastic construction and unbreakable polycarbonate lens are designed for demanding industrial use.
The SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO is IPX7-rated, waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes, has O-ring-sealed openings, and is tested for 2-meter impact resistance. It features shock-resistant LEDs with a 50,000-hour lifetime.
Measuring 3 inches long, 2.25 inches wide and 1.14 inches high, the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO weighs 3.4 ounces with included batteries. Each system – the universal mounting system for helmets and hard hats, or the hat light system for mounting on a baseball hat or bump cap – includes mounting hardware to securely attach the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO.
The SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO,which includes a hard hat mount kit, has an MSRP of $68.90, and the SL-SideSaddle HAZ-LO Hat Light, which includes a hat mount, has an MSRP of $62.50. Both are backed by Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
