New Bio-Chain and Cable Lubricant safer for the environment, workers

Renewable Lubricants introduces Bio-Chain & Cable Lubricants for deck machinery like winches, lifts, cranes, hoists, capstans, and more.

Renewable Lubricants BioChainThese readily biodegradable, biosynthetic-blend lubricants formulated with anti-wear/EP additives, corrosion inhibitors, and tackifiers for enhanced performance in heavy-duty chain and cable systems. High-performance environmentally responsible lubricants provide excellent multi-metal protection and long-lasting boundary lubrication under shock loading conditions.

The super high viscosity index from Stabilized HOBS ensures excellent cold temperature pumpability and superior adhesion to metal surfaces. Bio-Chain & Cable™ Lubricants are readily biodegradable, environmentally non-toxic, not bioaccumulative, and compliant with EPA VGP 2013 (EAL compliant). With ISO 32, 46, 68, 100, and 150 formulations available, they are ideal for marine applications, construction projects near wetlands and sensitive areas, hydro-electric engineering, and more.

This unique formulation contains no chlorine, zinc or heavy metals so it is safe for employees using it as well as the environment. It exceeds US EPA and Fish and Wildlife LC-50/EC-50 toxicity criteria. With excellent wear protection under heavy loads, and outstanding oxidation resistance and thermal stability, it is ideally suited for demanding marine applications.

It features enhanced corrosion protection with strong adhesion to metals, and deep penetration and internal protection of cables and chains. Bio-Chain & Cable has many approvals and specifications including OECD 301 Readily Biodegradable, ASTM D-5864: Ultimate biodegradation within 28 days (Pw1); USDA Biopreferred and formulated with renewable biobased resources. It is available in 1-gallon cans, 5-gallon pails, drums, totes, and in bulk from the Hartville, OH factory, and from Marine and Industrial Distributors nationwide. Bio-Chain & Cable can be applied by spray, brush, drip, or pressure boot, making it easier and cleaner to apply than traditional petroleum-based products. It meets the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) guidelines for Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) and should be used where low toxicity, biodegradability, and non-bioaccumulation properties are required.
